Successful completion of a £104k project to provide electrical infrastructure fit-out for a prime retail unit and a site wide CCTV system.
Blackwater Retail Park is located 1.5 miles north of Farnborough town centre. The retail park has a high footfall, over 4,700 vehicles enter the shopping park each day and is home to major retail outlets, such as Halfords, Currys, TK Maxx among others.
Pentalec have completed a Category A electrical services infrastructure package for a retail unit to be occupied by Halfords. Working in partnership with Volker Fitzpatrick, the contract included the following packages: Mains switchgear and sub main distribution, Small Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm Systems, Containment, Building Services Controls.
Additional packages were also awarded for the installation of new store front lighting which required lux plot designs for correct luminaire selection, and installation of local power supplies for the retail park totem signs.
A complex element of the work delivered was a new site wide CCTV surveillance system, comprising NVR server, 14x static cameras and 6x PTZ cameras including automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) software and the IP network infrastructure to support both wired and wireless cameras.
The installation of the CCTV system involved excavation of cable trenches for direct burial Cat 5e network cabling, wireless transmission equipment, and remote IP signal boosters in order to provide coverage across the entire retail park.
Lee Williams from Volker Fitzpatrick stated: "As expected the team at Pentalec carried out works efficiently and safely, to budget and within client expectations. This was a particularly tricky specification to which the team delivered the results required."
